Helter Skelter Workshop: Behind the Panels

Behind the Panels
Behind the Panels

Behind the Panels is a comic book scripting workshop on Sunday, November 9, in Bandra, Mumbai, presented by Helter Skelter Magazine for everyone who wants to learn about the nuts and bolts of the ninth art. The workshop will be conducted by Jai Undurti, author of Hyderabad: A Graphic Novel, and one of the top graphic novelists in the country. Undurti has recently finished working on episode one of The Robots of Dharma, an epic sci-fi graphic novel set in a dystopian India, with artist Stan Chou.

The Robots of Dharma
Participants at the workshop will receive a free copy of episode one of The Robots of Dharma.

Participants at the workshop will learn all about the basics of writing for sequential art, and will work to finish a one-page script by the end of the workshop. They will get a unique opportunity to explore the entire workflow of a graphic novel from idea to finished script and all the way to the final artwork, using The Robots of Dharma as an example. Stan Chou will also be a part of the workshop via a video feed.

As an added incentive, the best script (as judged by Jai Undurti) will be brought to life by the artwork of the immensely talented Harsho Mohan Chattoraj, the artist behind Hyderabad: A Graphic Novel, who will do a live drawing session over Skype. And what’s more, everyone who registers for the workshop will receive a FREE copy of episode one of The Robots of Dharma!

Spots for the workshop are limited, so please sign up here to ensure that you get to be a part of it.
