[Workshop] Writing Graphic Novels
Writing Graphic Novels is a comic book scripting workshop presented by Helter Skelter Magazine. The workshop will be conducted by Ram Venkatesan, author of acclaimed titles such as Black Mumba, Aghori, and Brigands, amongst others.
Participants at the workshop will get a unique opportunity to learn all about the basics of writing for comics and graphic novels, including:
What makes comics a distinct medium?
What can you do with comics that you can’t with other mediums?
What are its commonalities with other mediums?
Basic rules of writing and storytelling
Dialogue, voice, pacing, and plot
Making choices for narrative voices
The movement of time in comics
Writing for the art, writing with the art
The workshop will be followed by a chat with Ram, and a question-answer session with the attendees.
